The features and layout of the FF-6000 were determined in collaboration with leading loudspeaker manufacturers Funktion One, who canvassed many DJs world wide on their requirements.

The result is a mixer which is not only of the highest sound quality, as you would expect from Formula Sound, but also incorporates the features and layout which DJs have asked for.

 

General

 
bulletA removable fader panel allows the mixer to be easily configured as a linear fader or a rotary fader mixer.
bulletAll faders plug in and can therefore be changed easily should the need arise.
bulletAll switches are illuminated to show system status clearly. 2 push button types have been utilised to ease recognition of frequently used switches. Knob sizes and control spacing has been maximised.

bullet1 & 2 are switchable to Mic - Line, (mic inputs Lo Z balanced).
bulletChannels 3 - 6 are switchable to either phono - line or line - line. All inputs have rear panel gain trims to set individual levels.

Console Mic.

An input for a separate console microphone (XLR connector Lo Z Balanced) is fitted. This signal is routed to the zone and master outputs but it is not present in the booth outputs. 2 band E.Q. Cue & Mic ON switch also fitted.

Monitoring

Phones outputs are provided on 3.5mm and standard 6.5mm jack sockets driven by a powerful headphone amplifier.

Split cue switch and cue mixing control are also featured.

2 x 12 segment stereo led meters are fitted to visually monitor Cue and output signals.

Construction

Steel Front panel with a rear printed polycarbonate overlay guarantees that the mixer will still look good in years to come.

New Formula Sound Foldback Mixers Take European and American Stages
The new QUE-18 foldback mixer recently launched by Formula Sound has already made an impact on an international scale by being chosen for use in two major theatrical productions being launched in Spain, the United States and the Netherlands. The productions of the Queen musical 'We Will Rock You' and the ABBA inspired 'Mamma Mia!'  in Madrid, Las Vegas and Utrecht respectively, have a number of QUE-18 units utilized in both productions.
   The QUE-18 has been specifically designed to provide new levels of foldback flexibility, especially in theatre applications. A dozen QUE-18s are being use in Madrid as well as Las Vegas and 13 in Utrecht, all of which incorporate features specifically requested by professional sound designers. The result is a powerful new mixer that takes the proven reliability of the existing Formula Sound QUE-8 and QUE-10 units and adds an unbeatable level of versatility.
   The sound designer for both these show is Bobby Aitken of Bobby Aitken Sound Designs, who contributed towards the original concept of the QUE-18. "The QUE-18 has emerged as an excellent and thoroughly professional unit," he comments. "I've used Formula Sound's previous foldback mixers for many years and needed a larger version which was just as reliable and robust. The QUE-18 fits the bill perfectly and has now become my standard foldback mixer. There are other mixers out there, but nothing can compete with the QUE-18 on either price or performance."
   The QUE-18 can handle up to 18 audio inputs (14 mono and 2 stereo) and offers numerous configuration options to satisfy different foldback requirements. It will also interface perfectly with studio mixing consoles and so is ideal for any application which demands reliable and controllable foldback handling. Like all Formula Sound products the QUE-18 combines outstanding features and flexibility with a build quality which is second to none.
